About Me

Welcome to Today Hypnotherapy. My name is Diane.

If you’ve found your way here, there may be something in your life you’d like to change. Perhaps you’re struggling with anxiety or stress, your confidence has taken a knock, there’s a fear or habit you’d like to overcome, or maybe you simply feel ready for things to be different.

Whatever has brought you here, you’re very welcome. Taking that first step can sometimes feel difficult, and my aim is to make things feel comfortable, relaxed and completely free from judgement.

Away from my work, I’m also a wife, mum and grandmother. Family is a really important part of my life, and both personally and professionally I understand that life doesn’t always go to plan. Sometimes we all need someone who will listen without judgement and help us find a way forward.

Helping people has been at the heart of my working life for many years. My career began supporting adults with learning needs and disabilities, before I went on to work as a support worker with young offenders. I later became a family support worker, working closely with children and families who were experiencing difficult or challenging circumstances.

Wanting to develop my knowledge and be able to offer even more support, I went on to qualify as a social worker, completing my BA (Hons) in Social Work at Keele University. I then worked directly with children and families, supporting people through some very complex periods in their lives.

Those experiences taught me a great deal about people. Most importantly, they taught me the value of listening, patience, compassion and treating every person as an individual. No two people, families or situations are exactly the same.

After leaving social work, I wanted to continue helping people, but in a different way. This led me to train in Clinical Hypnotherapy.

For me, becoming a hypnotherapist feels like a natural continuation of everything I have done throughout my career. Whether I was supporting someone with additional needs, a young person going through difficulties, a family needing help or somebody now coming to me for hypnotherapy, the motivation has always been the same:

I genuinely want to help people move forward.

Today I bring together my professional training, life experience and many years of working with people from very different backgrounds. My approach is warm, down-to-earth and non-judgemental. I want you to feel comfortable talking openly about what is troubling you, what you would like to change and where you would like to be.

Positive change starts today.

For sleep and relaxation, sessions can focus on slowing a busy mind, releasing tension and building relaxation routines and self-hypnosis techniques that you can practise outside your appointments.

Find out more

If you have decided to stop smoking or vaping, hypnotherapy can focus on your motivation, routines and triggers, while reinforcing alternative ways of responding to cravings. Your own commitment is important and results vary between individuals.

Weight Management

Explore habits, motivation and mindset around food and wellbeing.

Find out more

For weight management, hypnotherapy can be used alongside balanced eating and activity to explore habits, cravings, emotional eating and motivation. The aim is to support more helpful choices and attitudes rather than offer a quick-fix weight-loss treatment.

Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy and is not a substitute for medical, psychiatric or other professional healthcare.

Your questions, answered.

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy uses a relaxed and focused state alongside therapeutic talking techniques.

Will I lose control?

No. You remain aware and in control during a session.

Is hypnotherapy suitable for everyone?

It may not be suitable for everyone, so individual circumstances are discussed before starting.

Is hypnosis the same as being asleep?

No. Hypnosis is a conscious, focused state rather than sleep. You remain able to notice what is happening and respond if your attention is needed.

Will I be in control?

Yes. You remain in control during hypnosis. The hypnotherapist acts as a guide and you will not be asked to do or say anything you are uncomfortable with.

What does hypnosis feel like?

People experience hypnosis differently. It is often described as a relaxed, focused state, a little like becoming absorbed in a daydream.

What happens at my first session?

We will begin by talking about what you would like help with, your goals and any relevant health information. I will explain the process, answer your questions and discuss an approach tailored to you.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no single number that suits everyone. The number of sessions will depend on you, what you would like to work on and how you respond. We can review progress together.

Can hypnotherapy replace medical treatment?

No. Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy and should not replace medical, psychiatric or other professional healthcare. Continue prescribed treatment unless the healthcare professional responsible for your care advises otherwise.

Are results guaranteed?

No. Everyone responds differently and results cannot be guaranteed. Your motivation, circumstances and the issue you are working on can all affect your experience.

Where are sessions held?

Sessions are available by appointment in Stafford. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss arranging a session.
